A Gentle Journey Through Laguna’s Heritage
Schedule: May 9, 2026 / May 23, 2026
Take a step back in time and experience Laguna at a slower, more meaningful pace. Begin your journey in Nagcarlan, home to the only underground cemetery in the Philippines, a unique site steeped in history from Spanish colonial times to the days of the revolutionaries. Above ground, the San Bartolome Parish Church welcomes visitors with its stately baroque design—a landmark that has stood for centuries as a symbol of faith and community.
From there, wander into the graceful charm of Pila Heritage Town, often called the “Sala of the Philippines” for its genteel and hospitable lifestyle. Stroll past well-preserved ancestral homes, admire the architecture, and visit San Antonio de Padua Church, the first Antonine church in the country. Every corner of this National Historical Landmark town seems to whisper stories of the past.
After a morning of history and discovery, enjoy a hearty lunch at a local restaurant, with specialties that reflect Laguna’s flavors—kulawo (grilled banana heart in coconut milk), fresh pako salad, and savory freshwater tilapia.
Your afternoon takes you to Liliw, a town known both for devotion and craftsmanship. Explore the lively streets filled with handmade shoes, slippers, and woven crafts. Take your time browsing, shopping, and soaking in the town’s vibrant yet laid-back energy.
Finally, before heading home, bring with you the sweetness of Laguna through its beloved pasalubong—freshly baked buko pie, chewy espasol, and melt-in-your-mouth uraro cookies. More than just treats, these are flavors tied to fond family memories and traditions.
This is more than a tour—it’s a day of heritage, culture, flavors, and shared moments. A gentle journey that fills not just your bag with keepsakes, but your heart with lasting stories.
